Publication Ethics and Ethical Responsibilities

AUTHOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Authors share collective responsibility for the content of the work they upload to the journal system and wish to publish. Therefore, researchers must carefully review their work at every stage to ensure that methods and findings are accurately reported and that citations and references are used appropriately.

For studies involving research, interviews, or surveys, authors must act responsibly regarding the requirement of ethical committee approval and should comply with all relevant regulations.

Integrity
Researchers must present their findings and results honestly and without inappropriate data manipulation. Research data, findings, and visual materials must not be misrepresented or altered in a misleading way.

If authors identify any errors in their article at any stage—from submission to post-publication—they must immediately inform the journal editor. In such cases, authors must cooperate with editors to make corrections or issue retractions if necessary.

If researchers conduct applied studies, they must clearly define their methodology and present their findings as clearly and simply as possible. Their work should include enough detail to allow replication by other researchers in the future.

Authors must properly cite and acknowledge the works they have used. If they have not read a cited work, they must not copy references from other publications.

Transparency
All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript to be submitted and published. Any changes in authorship, including additions or removals, must be approved by all authors. The author who uploads the manuscript to the journal system should act as the main contact person with the editor and is responsible for keeping the other authors informed.

Originality
Authors must ensure that the work they submit is original and has not been published elsewhere in any language.

Applicable copyright laws and agreements must be followed. Any copyrighted material (e.g., tables, figures, or extensive quotations) must only be used with proper permission and attribution.

Previous research, including the authors’ own work, must be accurately cited and acknowledged. Relevant and foundational literature should be utilized as appropriate.

Authors must inform the editors whether the findings have been previously published or are under consideration elsewhere.

Accountability and Responsibility
All authors should read and be familiar with the work being submitted and must ensure that it adheres to the principles outlined in these guidelines. Generally, authors are expected to take collective responsibility for the integrity and reporting of the research. However, if authors are only responsible for specific aspects of the research or its reporting, this should be clearly stated in the publication.

If errors or omissions are discovered after publication, authors should promptly work with the editor or publisher to correct the record.

PUBLICATION ETHICS

CSS JOURNAL requires all authors to adhere to the ethical standards set by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), which emphasize confidentiality and the protection of personal information.

PLAGIARISM POLICY

All submissions to the journal must undergo a similarity (plagiarism) check. It is the author’s responsibility to obtain a plagiarism report and to confirm that the work is free of any publication concerns. Reports must be generated through platforms such as Turnitin, CrossCheck by iThenticate, or intihal.net.
The similarity report must be uploaded to the journal system along with the manuscript or sent to the journal’s email address.

COPYRIGHT

Copyright protects the specific expression of scientific research as written in the article. It is essential to safeguard the rights of the author and to regulate the reproduction and use of the published research for other purposes.

Upon acceptance for publication, copyright is considered transferred to CSS JOURNAL.
